Nose

Discrete and harmonious expression with real ripe fruit tones (strawberries), wood tar and roasted vegetables (Cabernet aromas), laurel and very discreetly, the distinctively earthy undertone of  Villany. Striking rive droite-character (Bordeaux / St-Emilion / Fronsac / Pomerol).

Taste

A fused and seductively smooth start with a velvety texture, there is a creamy effect after first contact. This elegant material is harmoniously structured with an eloquent freshness and soft but certainly existent tannins. The finale offers plenty of variety and contrast yet the fun factor is absolutely there.

Culinary

Bodes very well with Hungarian cuisine: goulash and kolbasz are the most famous dishes. More global stews, beef and lamb from the grill or barbecue are very tasty companions.  The more spicy Asian cuisine works very well, although best is to keep it mildly spicy, such as Indian red curries, tandoori dishes or skewered meats. Also seasonal minced lamb with pickled vegetables and tagine dishes are a worthy combination.

The wines with the Lisati label fulfil the function of the “second” wine, as is aften applied by great Bordeaux Chateaux as well.

In the first place, the second wine is Lisati approach gives us the opportunity to provide a  single-vineyard-wine called Domaine Mondivin QUINTESSENCE. Wine from one vineyard with grapes from very old vines and grape variety.

In addition there are assemblages of grapes from different vineyards (Am Haus, Remette and Somsitch) and thus an assembly of the two grape varieties Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The resulting wines are often produced under the Lisati label *.

Some years even grapes from the birthplace of the top wine Quintessence are used.
The term second wine could evoke negative associations, yet the result is usually so good that these negative associations are not in place.

The careful assembly of the grapes from different plots with vines of varying age, with different soil influences, locations, micro-climates and the merging of two varieties that seem born for this combination leads to very good final results.

It is good to know that all red wines, including Lisati, mature in casks of 2,000 liters of premium Hungarian oak.

*) The Rosé is the exception to this because it wears the Mondivin Label.
